Sheryll
A Jackman, ASID, CID, President
Sheryll
is the president and director of The Jackman Group,
a Coronado based multi-disciplinary firm offering
planning, design and construction.
With
more than 25 years experience in the field of
decorative arts, interior design and architecture,
Sheryll founded The Jackman Group in 1978.
A
graduate of the Design Institute of San Diego
and the College for Appraisers in Placentia, Sheryll
also holds a General Contractor's License and
a Real Estate Brokers License.
Sheryll
is active with several design, appraisal and historical
preservation groups in both San Diego and Coronado
and is also a member of the National Trust for
Historic Preservation.
In
San Diego, she served on the Board of the American
Society of Interior Designers in 1989 where she
headed the community relations committee and has
served as the San Diego chapter president as well
as serving on the National Ethics Committee for
three years.
Sheryll
is a Certified Interior Designer and is a professional
member of the American Society of Interior Designers,
ASID.
In
Coronado, she served on the Executive Board as
well as the Design and Economic Restructuring
Committees on Main Street, Ltd., an independent
agency aimed at the revitalization of the downtown
business district along Orange Avenue.
She
was also appointed by the Coronado City Council
as one of 12 members of the Business Areas Advisory
Committee, a group directed to conceive and promote
a master plan for the business areas of Coronado.
The master plan is presently being implemented
and she continues to serve on the committee in
an advisory position.
Sheryll
has served as an Instructor at the Design Institute
of San Diego as well as lectured on Historic Preservation.
Further community involvement has included Rotary
International.
A
Real Estate sales person for 23 years in Coronado,
Sheryll acquired her Real Estate Broker's License
three years ago and is a member of both the San
Diego and Coronado Board of Realtors.
The
firm has received numerous awards for their work
from ASID as well as from the Save Our Heritage
Organization for Historical Preservation. In addition,
Sheryll was selected as the Best Interior Designer
for 2004 by the residents of Coronado.
1996
found Sheryll and her daughter, Caylee Jackman
Pinsonneault, in the retail business as they opened
Island Provenance, now called Seaside Home in
Coronado. Seaside
Home is a specialty store providing world
renowned Home furnishings and accessories. The
residents of Coronado named Seaside Home their
Favorite Home Accent Store in 2005.
Last
year Sheryll and her younger daughter Jori Jackman
opened a second retail venture, Seaside
Papery, specializing in personalized stationery,
invitations, announcements and other fine paper
products and gift items.
Both
retail endeavors are under the umbrella of Jackman
Industries, Inc.
